The Tooth

This is the story of Ethan's second lost tooth.

Ethan has had a loose tooth for over a month. Since Ethan was five, he began to wish he had lost a tooth like so many of his friends. Poor Ethan seemed to feel that the Tooth Fairy was never going to make her way to our house. Then in January (I think) we were on a long car trip and Ethan managed to wiggle his first loose tooth out. Being in the car, we were not able to capture the moment with a camera. However, we had plenty of time to prepare for his second wiggly tooth to come out (a months worth of wiggling) and I managed to keep Ethan still so that I could take a few pictures while he worked at it. When it got to the point where it was hanging by a thread and it would sit on his lip, Ian and I both encouraged Ethan to yank it out.

I'm afraid!

Look Daddy!

So proud. I was so happy it was out! He could barely eat his lunch at school!

Ethan wrote a note to the Tooth Fairy to ask her if he could keep his tooth to show his friends. She brought him two loonies and left him the tooth.

We made a tooth container for Ethan to bring to school and then somehow we lost the tooth! It went missing for two days. I thought for sure we lost it (literally). I ended up finding it again and all was well!

Now, we are waiting for his top teeth to start to wiggle!

New Used Play Structure

A few weeks ago, we bought a play structure from some friends. I don't think they boys have gone a day without going playing on the swings, racing down the slide or climbing the pirate rope. We knew we needed something for the kids in the back yard, we just didn't realize how well the boys would use it! It has been such fun to listen to them giggle and play together and it gives me some time to get things done inside the house!

The picture above, demonstrated the new game where Ethan pushes Toby, not the other way around. It's the rough way of swinging, but they both seemed to like it.

I Think I Must Not Be Growing

Today, Toby was singing Raffi's version of I think I Must be Growing, but he changed all the words so that is was this very funny rendition of opposites. It went something like this:

I think I must not be growing.

Yes I know I'm not growing.

My mom says I'm not growing

And now I know it's true.

My mom says eat your sandwhich,

It will help you grow up tall.

But I know that I'm not growing.

I want to reach the ceiling,

but I know that I can't.

I wish that I were growing.

I know that I'm not growing......

I was laughing so hard! He was quite serious about the whole thing and I have never heard him change the words to something and make it that funny.

Well done Toby, my little comedian!

Lookout world, Toby is on two Wheels.

Toby is very proud of this new accomplishment and is telling anyone who will listen about it. He was very focussed on the task and managed to learn in two days. He is absolutely fearless.

Ethan and Alexis' First School Dance

We were all invited to Ethan's first school dance. We all got dressed-up for a night out. Simon was a hit with the older girls. Toby danced a little and ran a little. Ethan takes after his uncle Scott and spent most of the time ignoring the girls and chasing a ball around the gym.

Spring Cleaning

I managed to get a couple of good pictures of the boys in the bath. I wish this spring cleaning would last for the entire season. I love the way the bubbles are dripping on this picture of Ethan. He really doesn't mind sharing the tub with his brothers.

Toby was asking me to take a picture of him with his white beard. A peak into the future?

Simon loved the bubbles.

Quick Stop on the Way Home.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Emma and Toby. On the way back from the farm, we stopped at Howe Island and were lucky to catch Jessica, Alan and the crew just before they left.
The kids burned off some energy before we went the rest of the way home.
